Many people live with mental health conditions.

There is growing evidence that depression, anxiety, dementia, and other general psychological issues, are also critical factors in the well-being of HIV+ people.

The 'HIV Futures II Survey', conducted by the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health & Society (ARCSHS), 'Living with HIV' program, reports that over one quarter of PLWHA had been taking medication prescribed for depression, in the six months prior to participating in the survey. This is of concern, not only to PLWHA, but also to the various health service providers. We need to make sure that PLWHA are being appropriately supported and resourced to maintain the optimum level of health and well-being.

To assist with this, a list of services that can assist is provided in the 'Depression' section of this site, which you can access by clicking at the top, right-hand side of this page.
