The Positive Living Centre (PLC) is a vibrant and safe environment for all people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). You can contact PLC reception on (03) 9863 0444 (or free-call 1800 622 795 for country callers).

The PLC's main aim is to enhance the health and well-being of HIV positive people, through the provision of social, emotional, recreational, and skills-based services and activities. Many services are provided free-of-charge and are delivered by a range of skilled facilitators, staff, and volunteers. Services are reviewed regularly to ensure they are responsive to the changing needs of PLWHA.

The PLC is wheelchair-accessible, and has car-parking, laundry facilities, lounge room, television, video, computer facilities, internet access, and a range of resources available for client use.

Activities

Activities at the PLC vary in any given week but it is likely that you will find massage, reiki, food pantry, yoga, computer classes, movie nights, fitness classes, art classes, naturopathy, hairdressing, dinners, self-serve brunch, and a range of other services and resources available.

The PLC is a 'one-stop-shop' where, in addition to the acitivities outlined, you can access:

• HIV peer support;
  

• HIV complementary therapies information and advice;
  

• Nutritional Services, including regular meals & free food-stuffs;
  

• HIV legal assistance through the HIV/AIDS Legal Centre (HALC);
  

• Emergency financial relief via the David Williams Fund;
  

• Emergency food vouchers;
  

• Community Support Program, which provides home-based care and facilitates drop-in groups, in the outer northern and southern regions of Melbourne;
  

• Youth Access Program ('FRESH'); and,
  

• PK Tix Program, which provides free and low-cost entertainment and social outings.
