The Melbourne based gay soap opera tackles the big issue of homophobia and features stars Geoffrey Rush, Denise Scott, Andrea Powell and Judith Lucy.
The series follows the lives of four gay housemates, and the dramas they encounter as they go out, meet guys, hook up, and negotiate relationships, and the homophobic attitudes that they sometimes encounter.
Colin Batrouney, Manager of Health Promotion at the Victorian Aids Council Gay Mens Health Council (VAC/GMHC), said that the series was a huge success and proved that the common methods of health promotion were not always so successful in delivering messages to the gay community.
'We've found that social media tools and a funny, well written soap opera is the best way of generating this vital conversation about safe sex and respect in the gay community,' said Mr Batrouney.
'We were also lucky enough to work with Academy award winning actors who donated their time to the series, and helped us explore the theme of homophobia in a humorous and honest way.'
'Promotion of health and wellbeing doesn't have to be traditional printed material or advertising campaigns - indeed from the success we've seen and the positive responses to Queer as Fxxk - social media allows greater engagement and discussion around these important issues.
Series five will begin November 2nd, on Facebook and YouTube, and episodes are posted every Wednesday. Become a fan of the show on Facebook or YouTube.
