Training and Education

Request Training

We currently offer education, training and secondary consultations. We have a number of roles at Thorne Harbour Health that support the delivery of these training packages and consultations with expertise in specialised areas as well as immeasurable value of lived experience within the health sector. In line with our core values and historical context the team understands that delivering research based, expert and up to date training with topics that intersect with health and wellbeing is where our strength lies.

Training and education currently offered as fee-for-service:

  • LGBTIQ+ Cultural Awareness Training
  • Trans and Gender Diverse Cultural Awareness Training
  • Alcohol and Drug Use within LGBTIQ+ Communities: Cultural Awareness Training
  • Family Violence within LGBTIQ+ Communities: Cultural Awareness Training
  • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) with Thorne Harbour Health
  • safeTALK workshops with Thorne Harbour Health

Training format and delivery

Training can be delivered in person or via Zoom Video Communications platform. Online training is available for organisations and individuals across Australia.

All training is delivered with two trainers with LGBTIQ+ lived experience and runs for roughly 2-hours. We recommend up to a maximum of 35 people per session to encourage engagement during the sessions, but we can accommodate for more.

To accommodate for larger groups or different audiences, training can be tailored to meet your needs.
